Last month saw A$AP Ferg and Gucci Mane subtweeting each other over the similarity in their mixtape titles. With Gucci's upcoming Trap Back 2, Trap House 3, and the mixtape in question, Trap God 2, it seems as if the man who came dangerously close to naming himself Guwop has run a monopoly on "trap" based titles. As similar as Ferg's Trap Lord looks on paper, the A$AP rapper argues that the title has been floating around for some time.
Ferg uses the evidence that a "Trap Lord Productions" logo appears in his "Work" video from August 2012, a good two months before the original Trap God dropped (though with a little bit of research you'll find Gucci announced his title in July, but let's give Ferg the benefit of the doubt here).
"I think it's a miscommunication. I don't know what Gucci was doing," he said. "I mean, if you look at the date on the 'Work' video and you see 'Trap Lord Productions' in the front of that video... And that's it."
Ferg also announced that his tape will feature the likes of fellow melodic rappers Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, as well as Rocky collaborator Clams Casino.
"There's going to be some very rare features on there. It just happened," he said. "The Lord himself just dropped these features on there. I might have a little bit of Bone Thugs on there, just to name them. I might have some beats from very rare on there. I might have something from Clams Casino on there. I'm trying to do something very legendary right now."
You can catch the rapper on his Fergenstein as a part of Juicy J's "Stay Trippy" tour next month.
