The company is unveiling a low-tech upgrade to their successful gaming system.

Nintendo has recently revealed a line of accessories for their massively popular Switch console that are manufactured from cardboard. These appendages were designed to provide interaction between the console and its Joy-Con controllers in a number of ways.

One of these examples is a piano contraption that the console and controllers are to slide right into. As seen in the image below, after arranging all the pieces in their proper positions, a user will be able to press the cardboard keys, which will allow music notes to come out of the console.

Another one of these kits includes an interactive robot suit equipped with a visor, backpack and straps for both the player's hands and feet. When worn, a giant robot on the screen will mimic their moves, which further animates the potential of their console.

In a statement announcing these additions, Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime reveals how this "is an exciting evolution of the Nintendo Switch platform -- one designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and imagination in people of all ages."

Furthermore, Serkan Toto, the CEO of the consulting agency Kantan Games, notes how this is a "surprising and positive" announcement, which really "shows that Nintendo is, at its core, a toy maker."

These toy kits will be priced in the $70-$80 range, which will inevitably boost the resounding success of the company and its latest foray into the gaming sphere. These cardboard appendages will go on sale April 20.
