One of Floyd Mayweather's bodyguards was reportedly shot while riding in one of the SUVs that were transporting the retired boxer and other members of his entourage. According to TMZ Sports, the shooting took place outside of the Intercontinental hotel in Buckhead Atlanta at around 3am Monday morning.
The report states that three vehicles, including the one Floyd was riding in, were returning from a nightclub when another car pulled up alongside and fired multiple shots.
According to TMZ, cops say, "Another vehicle pulled up beside them at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Highland Drive and fired several times at one of the vehicles. All three vehicles fled and reported being followed for a distance."
"After losing the vehicle that was following them, the victim's vehicle drove to Grady Hospital where the victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and is in stable condition."
"At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim’s vehicle."
It's unclear who was the target of the shooting but TMZ reports that Floyd was uninjured. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the man who was shot is in stable condition and is expected to be OK. His name has not been released. The suspects are still at large.
