A Young Thug concert is an uncommon sight, especially compared to the tour schedules of his contemporaries. The elusive Jeffery tends to avoid the big stage, and while he does tour, he's hardly embarking on some the more extensive legs; in 2017, Thugger played a mere twenty shows throughout the year. Therefore, when he does rear his head, it's worth noticing. Last night, the 2018 IHeartRadio awards went down, which featured a wealth of performances from Cardi B, Eminem and Kehlani, and N.E.R.D. And while those were all exciting in their own right, they were all missing one key factor: a thug, of the young variety.
As you probably know, Young Thug and Camila Cabello's "Havana" has emerged as one of last year's biggest hits. Despite the fact that some radio edits actually cut out Thugger's part (for shame), the single still managed to land the Atlanta rapper his first Billboard number one. Suffice it to say, the melodically inclined rapper has a clear talent for pop, especially if you factor in some of Jeffery's doper cuts like "Kanye West." Yesterday, Cabello took to the stage for a choreographed performance of her breakout single, amidst a sea of tuxedo-clad backup dancers. Suddenly, Thugger appeared, and laid down a live rendition of his verse.
While the full performance has yet to be made available, IHeartRadio shared a solid chunk of Thug's part. Check it out below.
