Is 50 Cent's "Street King Immortal" finally dropping this year?

Lately, the infamous Curtis Jackson has been in full-blown promotion mode, even more-so than usual. And while his upcoming Den Of Thieves film is generally the focal point of his press tour, conversation inevitably turns to his long-awaited Street King Immortal album. The album has been in limbo for what feels like years. In fact, there's some truth to that statement - reports from a few years back claim that SKI was dropping in September of 2015. Suffice it to say, it's been a minute since 50 has been crafting his sixth studio album, but if all goes well, this might be the year we finally receive it.

Last night, 50 was in L.A. for the Den Of Thieves premiere, where he happened to speak briefly about Street King Immortal. "I just released a song called "Think I'm Nothin'" with Jeremih, and then at the end of the year they'll get the full album," says 50. When asked about the delay, he defends his decision to hold off. "I been making movies and TV shows. I just won best drama. Not bad for a new guy!"

In a recent New York Times profile (see above), 50 spoke about the recording process of Street King Immortal: "On most Sundays, I go into the studio to record my music and meet my producers there. There are no windows so it’s very easy to lose track of time. I could be there six hours and not even feel it. Right now I’m in the middle of recording my sixth album, but it’s as thrilling as my first."
