It's time to take a journey down South to a region that's brimming with talent but gets little to no exposure. The sweltering Deep South energy sets in right away upon listening to the new work from Zilla, a rising emcee from Huntsville, Alabama. He's starting to bubble off the strength of the track "Lil Bit" and its accompanying video as well as his recent T.W.O.F. EP. Today, he's back alongside a new face from his hometown by the name of Grilly. The two Bama spitters team up for an exhilarating new collab, "Redrum," a flip of the classic UGK track "Murder," which dropped 20 years ago as part of the untouchable Ridin Dirty LP. As Bun and Pimp did with "Murder," Zilla and Grilly use "Redrum" to showcase their penchant for slick-talkin' lyrical mayhem.
There's more Huntsvegas talent on the "Redrum" production, coming from the Block Beattaz, who use the elements of the original "Murder" beat in a cutting-edge fashion. The Beattaz recently lent a couple of joints to the new tape from Tuscaloosa's Jay Dot Rain, CFC3. Clearly, the Dixie state needs to be explored further. Let's get Bama on the map!
Quotable Lyrics
I know some n*ggas that's family men and they got plenty work
Go to church on Sunday school, still gon' put yo face on a shirt
I don't do a lot of talkin', I just listen
Shortage of real n*ggas what the game been missin'
