Young Thug has worn many a dress throughout his career, but to do so on the cover of his latest album, JEFFERY, was a bold move. Indeed, that floor-length ruffled blue dress will likely be immortalized in hip-hop history. And that's not to mention the ornate rice hat he used to complete the getup. Erykah Badu said the look reminded her of a "certain ATLien," namely Andre 3000. In a new feature with Billboard, Thug offers some words on his fluid approach to fashion. "When it comes to swag," he says, "there's no gender involved."
He also reveals his plans to unveil another dress of the most sumptuous variety -- on his wedding day. Speaking of his plans to wed girlfriend and swimwear designer Jerrika Karlae, Thug says, "There will be two brides."
Elsewhere in the piece, Thug says that his affinity for women's clothing and his defiance of gender norms have been a part of his life since a young age. "When I was 12, my feet were so small I wore my sisters' glitter shoes," he explains. "My dad would woop me: 'You're not going to school now, you'll embarrass us!' But I never gave a fuck what people think."
