It's been almost three months since we got new Young Roddy material, as he shared "Robin Givens" back in March, and today, he's back. Heralded by a classic Chris Rock bit, his new track "King Pin" hits the web.
Roddy's juxtaposed helium voice and laid-back flow has always been his calling card, and here, he uses it to skillfully detail his come-up. The hook focuses on that a bit more literally (and repetitively), but the verses give us a bit more specificity, with Roddy quoting his uncle and referencing close friends by name. Hopefully, this means more new Roddy music is on the way.
Quotable Lyrics
And I can't even lie I been working like a slave
I turn water into wine, I turn crumbs into bread
And I know any day could be a nigga last day
Got some shit in my vault that I'ma take to my grave
