Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams founded Cash Money Records over twenty years ago. New Orleans rap collective the Hot Boys were one of Cash Money's earliest successes, which has since turned into perhaps the flashiest label of them all. In 2005, former Hot Boy Lil Wayne created his own CMR imprint, Young Money Entertainment. Young Money released their debut album We Are Young Money in 2009, which featured hits like "We Be Steady Mobbin" and "Bed Rock". Following the album's release, solo careers of Tyga, Nicki Minaj, and Drake took off. It didn't stop there though. Since their beginnings, the Young Money/Cash Money rosters have grown drastically, and are now home to several non-hip-hop artists as well. Unfortunately, many of these artists haven't done much except collect dust the past few years.
Taking after Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports, brothers Birdman and Slim recently founded Cash Money Sports. Former Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans is currently the only athlete signed to the agency. Who knows, maybe Birdman will become the next Scott Boras. Born rich, born uptown, born to win.
