Up-and-coming rapper Young Dolph, who was in Charlotte for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament Weekend, was reportedly shot at close to 100 times, reports say. The Memphis emcee walked away without a scratch, according to sources.
Charlotte police said the shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. on a road close to residential buildings at the intersection of 8th and North Caldwell Street, The Charlotte Observer reports. The incident happened just half an hour before the start of the men’s championship game of the CIAA at the nearby Spectrum Center.
According to The Fader, Young Dolph was the target of the shooting. Charlotte police refused to confirm it though.
In any case, Young Dolph shook off the incident quickly. He later performed with Migos and 21 Savage at unofficial CIAA-related party at Charlotte's Cameo Night Club.
The bullets hit apartments and cars. Police said no one was injured and the shooting is currently being investigated. Here is a video of the aftermath. The black SUV in the clip is reportedly Young Dolph's.
