Vic Mensa has found wider success through a strong co-sign from Kanye West in 2015, but he hasn't forgotten where he came from. Today he joins with the Fat Gang crew for a hard drill-inspired banger, "Around My Way".
In case you're unfamiliar, Fat Gang is made up of one of Chicago's finest producers, Young Chop, and rapper King 100 James, who's a Chop Squad artist. The addition of Mensa on their latest record switches up the dynamic a bit, as he brings a decidedly nimble flow to contrast James' in-your-face style. Chop also drops a 16, while Young J takes care of the beat. No word on where this one will appear, but if you'e looking for more from Fat Gang, check out their debut mixtape.
Quotable Lyrics:
God damn, I don't know where y'all from
I'm right here
On them southside Chicago streets
Turned a dream to a nightmare like Jay
Around My Way
