Wyclef Jean is currently working on a full-length album at the moment called Carnival III: Road To Clerification, but before it arrives later this year the Haitian singer decides to treat fans to a new EP to hold them over in the meantime called J’ouvert, which takes its name from the official start of Carnival in the eastern Carribean.
“My goal for J’ouvert was to pick up where I left off after ‘Sweetest Girl’ and [Shakira’s] ‘Hips Don’t Lie,'” Wyclef told Rolling Stone. “I had these Caribbean sonics haunting my brain and I knew this EP would be the start to what would become the Carnival 3 album.”
Laced with 10 tracks in total, the follow up to Carnival II features guest appearances from Young Thug (“I Swear”), T-Baby, Allyson Casado, Farina, Nutron, and more. Available on iTunes, fans can stream the EP in its entirety via Apple Music (below).
