Wolfgang Gartner creates a funky, California-inspired record.

Wolfgang Gartner is an electronic DJ. However, as Flume has show recently, that doesn’t mean he can’t put together a funky crossover track. “Hurricane Slurricane” is just that.

Gartner enlisted the help of Dâm-Funk and E-40 for the funky, electronic-influenced track, and we can’t help but be reminded of Mark Ronson’s breakout hit “Uptown Funk.” While it remains to be seen if this track can even come close to that single’s success, it’s definitely a great song in its own right. The title is taken from an old record by The Click featuring E-40.

Dâm-Funk handles hook duties and gets a verse, while E-40 comes through for just 16 bars. What do y’all think of this combination?

Quotable Lyrics

Long money that’s all I’m after
I’m a big deal mane, I’m a factor
California weed is all I smoke
party like a rocker, gospel spoke
