Once again this weekend's Roots Picnic in Philly was a joyous affair, with a top notch lineup that included A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, and Rae Sremmurd. The highlight of the entire event came at the end when Erykah Badu, decked out in her trademark outsize afro wig and sunglasses and backed by The Roots, brought out The LOX and YG as surprise guests.
The LOX came out during Badu's “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)" before busting out some old classics "All About the Benjamins" and "Money, Power, & Respect." YG came out to entertain the crowd with "My Nigga." Also among the special guest was underrated Philly MC Freeway, who rocked the stage with his rendition of "Roc The Mic" from his early aughts glory days.
Chalk it up as another successful Roots Picnic in the books. Check out YG, Badu, The Roots, and The Lox going to work below.
