Tupac makes the ballot in his first year of eligibility.

To no one's surprise, Tupac has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He will be inducted if he is one of among the top five vote-getters on this year's ballot, which also includes acts like Janet Jackson, Journey, Yes, Bad Brains, Pearl Jam, & Kraftwerk. The winners we will be announced in December and the induction ceremony will take place next April.

An artist or band is eligible for entry to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their debut album. Earlier this year, N.W.a. joined Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy as hip hop acts to be inducted into the R&RHoF.

Cast your vote for this year's nominees over at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website.
