There's no doubt in my mind that Trouble dropped one of the year's hardest tapes with May's Skoobzilla. It had all the familiar elements of a great trap release, but with a new voice, new energy, new wordplay, and some of the best producers in Atlanta. Tracks like "TIP Jeezy Boosie," a tribute to his three biggest influences, "Anyway / Everyday," a collab with Fetty Wap, and "Whachu Doin," featuring a stellar lineup of Young Thug, Quavo, and Skippa Da Flippa, have been huge successes for Trouble, but some of the best Skoobzilla cuts are the less obvious selections on the tracklist, such as "Traffic," which has received the video treatment today.
"Traffic" features former Grand Hustle rapper Spodee and is produced by the duo of Nard & B, frequent collaborators with Spodee and also responsible for "TIP Jeezy Boosie" and "Anyway / Everyday." The video provides exhilarating first-person footage of a strip club robbery led by Trouble, who himself recently got out of jail after getting hit with multiple felonies at the end of June. Hopefully he stays free and continues to drop more visuals off Skoobzilla. Download the tape here.
