Buzz just has a way of following this Trini born rapper. With all eyes on Trinidad Jame$ since “All Gold Everything” went viral, and became the choice go-to freestyle tune for rappers, many wondered where the new talent would sign. After one of his shows in December where Def Jam record executives were in attendance, people wondered if this was a sign. Now it has become official and Def Jam has announced the signing of the rising rapper.
Following his mixtape Don’t Be S.A.F.E., and of course the breakout street anthem, Def Jam, one of the original premier hip hop labels decided to sign him as an effort to continue to feature up and coming artists.
Def Jam’s Joie Manda says in a statement, via Billboard, “We're excited to welcome a young talent like Trinidad James to the Def Jam family. Def Jam prides itself as both a cornerstone of hip-hop's rich tradition, and as a vital, forward-thinking label dedicated to breaking and nurturing emerging artists. Trinidad James represents the cutting-edge of what's happening in the culture today. We are thrilled to have him at the label, and look forward to growing his already massive buzz."
