Tory Lanez has been quite generous to fans as he works his way towards his debut album. Despite signing with a major label (Interscope), he hasn't slowed down on his Fargo Friday weekly releases, or free content in general (remember he dropped two mixtapes in December?).
Today is a pretty special Fargo Friday though, as this isn't just a throwaway cut, it's the second official single from Tory's highly anticipated debut, and not only are we premiering the single, we're exclusively revealing Tory's album title: I Told You. It's due out this summer, by the way (!!!).
"Luv" follows up "Say It," and by the sounds of it, it'll be just as successful as "Say It" if not more so-- "Say It" already dominated airwaves (probably still is), and this one has just as much pop appeal while still remaining in an r'n'b lane-- Tory continues to explore that side of his multi-faceted talent, although one can only hope there's still a healthy dose of #BARS-Tory on I Told You.
For "Luv," Tory cooks up a supremely catchy hook over oscillating drum-driven production (thanks to Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat), and perhaps obviously (based on song title), this one is all about spiraling into a deep love, which may or may not be accidental. Whereas "Say It" took some inspiration from '90s r'n'b group Brownstone, "Luv" interpolates another '90s act, this time a dancehall duo though, Tanto Metro and Devonte's "Everyone Falls In Love." It's safe to say Tory's got a smash on deck. Make sure to pick it up on iTunes.
Quotable Lyrics
Shawty she ain't even got a VISA
Outta town one night teaser
Need tell 'em other n*ggas to ease up
I'm fallin, but everyone falls
And I know from the first time, the first time
I've seen your love, you got me baby
