Too Short has been charged with four misdemeanors following his DUI arrest.

Too Short made headlines last month when his car was stopped by police in L.A., and he appeared to be under the influence. Short then tried to make a break for it, but was apprehended and brought into custody, and meth was found in the back of the cruiser he was riding in.

Short insisted that the meth was not his, and must have been left by another offender. Whether or not this was the case, the L.A. County District rejected the felony drug case, on account of the very small amount of drugs in question. However the rapper's case was passed to the L.A. City Attorney, which has charged Short with four misdemeanors following the incident.

The charges consist of two counts of DUI, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of Marijuana or an open container while driving.

A hearing is set for April 15th.

[Update: Rapper Charged With Ecstasy Possession, Not Meth]

TMZ reports that the controlled substance Too Short was charged with being in possession of was actually MDMA, rather than Meth, as previously believed. Either way, Short has expressed that the drug which was found in the back of the squad car he was riding in was left by a previous prisoner.

The amount of drugs found was still too little to be qualified as a felony charge, so the rapper will still be hit with the four misdemeanors as previously reported.

His hearing will take place on April 15th.

[Update: Short Scores Plea Deal]

Today, Too Short scored a pretty sweet plea deal. In exchange for pleading guilty to driving with a BAC of .08, all other charges were dropped.

This is a particularly impressive feat, seeing as the rapper has multiple DUIs under his belt.

Short was sentenced to 3 years probation, fined, and assigned alcohol education classes, which is pretty easy for this type of offense.
