After last night's thrilling Super Bowl LI finish, following the on-field trophy presentation, Tom Brady retreated to the Patriots locker room to celebrate with his teammates and realized that somebody had taken his game-worn jersey.
Flanked by a couple of security guards, #12 searched the locker room but to no avail. He even informed Patriots owner Robert Kraft about his missing jersey, who replied, "Well, you better look online."
When leaving NRG Stadium, USA Today asked Brady if the situation had been resolved to which he said;
"No," he replied. "It is going to be on eBay soon, I guess."
The missing jersey is still unaccounted for today, despite claims that one of the Patriots' equipment managers had taken it for safekeeping.
Brady was again asked about the jersey during a press conference following his Super Bowl MVP trophy presentation and said it's still MIA.
Per the NYPost:
“The jersey, I put it in my bag and I came out and it wasn’t there anymore,” Brady told reporters.
“It’s unfortunate because that’s a nice piece of memorabilia. If it ends up on eBay, let me know.”
According to reports that jersey could be worth $500,000.
