"Don't Tell Nobody" first arrived earlier in the month, but it was unfortunately crowded with an excess of DJ tags. Even so, it was clear the single was something special, with Tink-- one of Chicago's most promising young talents --going back and forth with one of the city's proven R&B songwriters, Jeremih.
The co-sign bodes well for Tink, whose profile is already on the rise off the strength of her most recent mixtape, Winter's Diary 2. This is actually the second offering we've heard from the singer/rapper today, as she just teamed up with DJ Dahi and Kelela for "Want It". Tink's latest output is not only evidence of her growing talent, but also her outstanding choice in collaborators. Look out for big things from the Chi-town songwriter this year.
Quotable Lyrics:
You creepin', I'm leavin'
You call me, I pick up
I hang up, you text me
'Let's link up', then I just say
'Fuck it', then we end up fuckin'
And you start up somethin'
I said I was done with
And it all repeats in the next two weeks
I be back on the same 'I'm done' shit
If they only knew that I'd rather be loose
Man, I'm tempted but I ain't gon' tell nobody
