The Weeknd is currently enjoying a huge release week for his latest album, Starboy, which enabled the Toronto artist to shatter Spotify's single-day streaming record. The album, which looks to debut at No. 1 with some of the highest first-week numbers of the year, is full of hits and relatively slim on features, though it does boast two incredibly rapped verses from two very different emcees. Kendrick Lamar guests on the serenely groovy "Sidewalks," and Future joins The Weeknd on the hook of "Six Feet Under," but his most compelling contribution is his closing verse on the pained ballad "All I Know." He conjures such a visceral feeling of heartbroken adrenaline when he hits his stride -- this is Future at "March Madness"-levels of greatness.
During the Starboy listening party, The Weeknd called up Future on FaceTime as his "All I Know" verse is about to begin. The Weeknd raps along and looks almost teary-eyed as he and Future simultaneously experience the live premiere of their winning collaboration. Future is clearly proud to be a part of the album.
