The Game appeared in court Monday to face charges related to an incident in which he punched an off-duty cop in a pick-up basketball game; Page Six reports that he was charged with one felony count of making criminal threats and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. The rapper pleaded not guilty.
The felony we already knew about, the misdemeanor appears to be a fresh charge. The altercation occurred at L.A.'s Hollywood High School on March 30. Game was fouled by the cop, allegedly told him "I'm going to kill you," and punched him in the face. The Game denied making any such threat and asserted that the cop "insinuated he had a gun in his gym bag."
If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison. He is currently free on $50,000 bail and has his next court date set for July 30.
