The Air Jordan XV will be returning this year as part of a collaboration between Nike, Laika and Focus Features in celebration of the upcoming film, "Kubo And The Two Strings."
The film's "Good vs. Evil" themed is played out on the special edition XV, with one shoe featuring a red accents and the other utilizing blue. Unlike previous XV's this pair doesn't feature the tongue that juts out, and is instead equipped with a zipped-up upper.
The Kubo XV's will be extremely limited but there are a few ways you could potentially score a pair.
"Separately, timed to the “From Coraline to Kubo: A Magical Laika Experience” opening August 5 at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Globe Theatre, Kernel will offer the website’s ticket buyers to the interactive event a chance to win a pair as well."
"On August 8, the Just Keep Livin Foundation will host a live eBay auction with dozens of pairs of Kubo XV sneakers up for bidding; all the proceeds will go to the Foundation’s programs that teach the importance of decision-making, health, education, and active living."
"Finally, on August 10, gamers who sign up to play the new Moon Beast game – named after the monster whom Kubo must battle in the movie – at the official Kubo and the Two Strings website can compete to be the top scorers and win a pair of Kubo XVs."
And if you're really not on board with any of the Air Jordan XV colorways, you're not alone because Tinker Hatfield himself has said that this silhouette is probably his least favorite of all- which is why he decided to revamp the design for this "Kubo" edition.
"People ask me all the time, 'What's your favorite Air Jordan and what's your least favorite?" Hatfield told Complex. "Sometimes I'll say my favorite is the Jordan XI, and a few times I've said my least favorite is the Air Jordan XV."
