KFC first broke the mold of boring fast food sandwiches when they released the "Double Down," a sandwich which substituted traditional buns for two pieces of fried chicken.
Now, Taco Bell is planning to swap out the tortillas of their tacos in favor of fried chicken.
Although it has not yet been approved for a national launch, the "Naked Chicken Chalupa" (jam packed with lettuce, tomato, cheese. and avocado ranch sauce) is currently being tested at locations in Kansas City, after the "Naked Crispy Chicken Taco" had a successful run in Bakersfield, California.
The best part about this is that Americans actually think these unshelled joints are actually a healthy alternative to their run of the mill tacos and chalupas!
"We were getting feedback like, 'It's so healthy. It's so fresh," Kat Garcia, Taco Bell's senior manager of marketing, told BuzzFeed News. "That really surprised us because it's fried chicken."
