After dropping off several leaks yesterday, "The Get Down" original soundtrack hits iTunes today, while season one of the TV show launched on Netflix. The musical drama takes place in 1970s New York City, as the youth are discovering and experimenting with a brand new genre: hip-hop. Baz Luhrmann, who is most well known as the director of "Romeo & Juliette" and "The Great Gatsby," is the executive producer of "The Get Down," alongside Nas.
For the TV show's original soundtrack, they call upon Nas, Raury, Leon Bridges, ZAYN, Jaden Smith, Miguel, Christina Aguilera, Janelle Monae and more. The soundtrack's album stream is available via Apple Music below.
