It’s safe to say Freddie Gibbs has overcome some of the most bizarre obstacles & setbacks of his life this past year. Back in June, Gibbs was arrested in France as a suspect in a rape case that took place in Austria. While being held overseas & accused of drugging & raping a woman, Gibbs was eventually acquitted from all charges in September and returned home to the States shortly thereafter, but not before having a story to tell. And what better way to tell that story than with a new body of work, which he releases today after weeks of promotion called You Only Live 2wice.
Serving as the follow up to last year’s Bandana project with Madlib, the 8-track project finds Freddie tackling issues of freedom, jail, race, rags-to-riches, and even purgatory all by himself over production from the likes of Kaytranada, BadBadNotGood, Speakerbomb, Aaron Bow, and more.
Led by the previously heard singles “Alexys” & “Crushed Glass,” fans can now stream the project in its entirety via Apple Music (below). Don't forget to show your support on iTunes if you're feeling it.
