Over the past couple months, Common has been promoting the hell out of his socially-charged new album Black America Again, releasing tracks like “Letter To The Free,” “Red Wine,” Home,” & “Joy & Peace” in the process, but now the time has finally come. At the stroke of midnight, the Chicago emcee released his eleventh studio album just in time for next Tuesday’s presidential election.
Laced with 15 tracks in total, the follow up to 2014’s Nobody’s Smiling features guest appearances from Stevie Wonder, Bilal, BJ The Chicago Kid, Marsha Ambrosius, PJ, John Legend, and more. As the title depicts, Black America Again is a timeless statement tackling social injustices happening in America, including police brutality, mass incarceration, and institutionalized racism to name few of them.
Available now on iTunes, fans can stream the project for free via Apple Music (below).
