Spodee has long been a buzzing name in the streets of Atlanta. He signed with Grand Hustle in 2009, and shortly after appearing on the Hustle Gang posse cut "I Don't Fuck With You," he left the label, never having put out an album during his six-year tenure. In an interview with DJ Smallz, he said that Grand Hustle hadn't given him enough opportunity to become the solo act he wanted to be, thus prompting a short-lived beef with T.I. Though he no longer has Hustle Gang behind him, Spodee has stayed working with the all-star production duo Nard & B, who join him on his new mixtape, Trench Muzik 2.
All tracks on the new project are produced by Nard & B, as was the case with the first Trench Muzik, released last month. And like part 1, Trench Muzik 2 has no features -- but fear not -- Spodee x Nard & B are a team to be reckoned with. The tape has a stripped-down, authentic trap feel, and Spodee strikes a special balance between lyricism and fiery Southern energy.
