Upon seeing these two names, it's already known that "21 Guns" will be a staple in the Atlanta streets. Skooly has been around for awhile, since the late '00s with the Rich Kidz, but he's just 22, and he's making some of the best music of his career right now. As for 21, he's been rapping for little over two years, and he's already performed at the BET Awards. "21 Guns" is a highlight off Skooly's brand new tape, King Cosa, his second of the year following February's Trench Gotti, a joint project with Nard & B.
One could imagine this track seeing extra mixing and mastering and suffering because of it. Why blunt the natural crackle of these trap vocals? They both sound hungry as hell trying to get their funds up with their guns up. "Bitch I'm from the bricks, but my trunk is in my damn hood / I just ate some steak and shrimp, you n*ggas eatin' canned goods." That boy 21's getting better and better.
King Cosa comes with 17 tracks, features from Rich Homie Quan and Spodee, and production from Tarentino, FKi, XoxaineDEEZY ("21 Guns"), and more. Look for the tape to be available for DL on HNHH very shortly.
