Saigon had a lot of trouble releasing his debut album. While the record was first scheduled for a 2007 release, it didn't hit shelves until 2011. The rapper is in a better place now, announcing today that rather than relying on labels, he's launching his own-- Squid Inc Squad.
"I feel so blessed to be able to launch this label the way I have always wanted to see one launched," Sai said of the new company. "Working with a digital powerhouse like CPXi is the missing piece that will allow SIS to unlock the real talent that is struggling to be heard. SIS is what the future of a branded integrated music label will look like. In 10 years music will be all digital and 100% tech driven.”
On top of that, the rapper announced that The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 3: The Troubled Times of Brian Carenard, which he called “the quickest album I ever wrote,” will see release this summer through Squid Inc. Squad, while the first single, "Sinner's Prayer" will be out April 21st.
