With a promotional tour that was making headlines for not only her music, but the craziness around it, Rihanna has made a lot of noise with the release of her 7th studio effort Unapologetic. It was predicted that she would finally debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the numbers are in and Ri Ri finds herself atop the charts.
The projections had the Def Jam songstress moving between 240-260k and she came in a little shy of that, but still sold enough to finally overtake Taylor Swift's RED juggernaut. After selling 238,949 units, Rihanna debuts at No. 1 for the first time in her career.
Early response for the album has been positive, so you can expect this album to continue to move units. Although she has not sold the same as albums in the past, this is a great showing in today’s album sales climate.
