Never meet your idols. It’s a mantra that Rick Ross is preaching on a new track that just leaked from his upcoming Rather You Than Me Album. He teased a diss that would appear on the album last month, saying it was someone he “looked up to” his entire career. Now we know who that target is: Birdman.

Coming after the Cash Money boss is not something anyone does lightly. Even emcees supporting Lil Wayne in his battle with his estranged label boss tend to stop short of dissing Birdman directly. Rick Ross pulls no punches in the track, lacing line after line describing his issues with Birdman’s behavior. In a year that’s already produced some stellar diss tracks, this might be the best. Read a few choice lyrical daggers below.

“Catholic record label, niggas getting raped boy”

“Look into your eyes before I say goodnight / and pray that Mannie Fresh’ll get to see the light”

“you would give us self-esteem and motivate our drive / but was in our pocket by the time we count to five”

“I watched this whole debacle so I’m part to blame / one last request, can all producers please get paid?

Ross ends the track speaking directly to Birdman. He says:

“Can’t believe this shit homie. Still love you nigga. But how the fuck you touch half a billion nigga, and your team starving nigga? You on an island nigga. You came to my city my nigga. I let you in my city nigga. What hurt me most is how you did my brother Khaled nigga. Khaled was loyal to you nigga…. You put my nigga in a hole homie. I don’t feel you for that my nigga.”

The song is a leak, so we can't host it here. Y'all are resourceful though, we're sure you can find it if you look in the right places.
