Bay area bruiser Rich Rocka introduces his latest track with a couplet that pretty much sums up every street rapper's come-up story: "I remember they used to pay me in increments / Now they pay me to tell the truth on these instruments." His new song is called "Earl Stevens," and it features the real Earl Stevens (E-40's birth name), as well as Droop-E, on the track.
A woozy banger, "Earl Stevens" squeezes the best out of all three of its stars, most notably E-40, who bends and swerves his voice into places no other MC could fit. The message is clear: if you're from the Bay and you want to rap, you best be linking up with E-40 for the co-sign.
Quotable Lyrics:
Grew up in a ghetto habitat
Guns go rata-tat-tat
Leave sucka's ears on a flap
Leave his eyeballs in his lap
