Surrounded by so much talent, it’s forgivable if you forgot that TDE President Punch is a solid emcee in his own right. As he usually does, he dropped “Gone” overnight to little fanfare, but the track is definitely worthy of attention.
The Cardo-produced beat features a standard drum kit paired with an interwoven keyboard and guitar melody for a laid back sounding track. A sample of Erykah Badu’s “On & On” is used as the hook. Punch raps over the track, giving us a generous three verses that speak on the TDE President’s stresses and lessons.
