Pharrell just keeps breaking down barriers.

Hip Hop is probably the last genre of music to be considered girly, but there are a few artists who buck the masculinity of the music like Pharrell Williams and Young Thug. The former has cemented his reputation over and over as someone who travels in his own lane, and his most recent move is no different. Pharrell will appear in advertising for Chanel’s newest handbag, the Gabrielle.

Skateboard P will join Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne and Caroline de Maigret in the campaign. He is the first man to ever appear in a Chanel handbag ad. While the announcement came today, the actual ads won’t be seen until April 3, which gives haters (who really can hate Pharrell, though?) plenty of time to come up with jokes. This isn't the first time Pharrell has partnered with Chanel; he walked during their runway show recently wearing a women's Chanel blazer (pictured above).

Pharrell is really on a roll right now, being named creative director of the Amex Platinum card, continuing his many collaborations with Adidas and finishing the rollout of “Hidden Figures.” He’ll be performing on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” tomorrow with Janelle Monae (but without Kim Burrell).
