If you had a nu metal phase in the early 2000s, you're no doubt familiar with Papa Roach. A California-based band that blew up on a international level with their smash hit single "Last Resort," the group ultimately fell victim to a changing music landscape and, like so many of those classic punk rock bands (we're looking at you, Blink-182), faded away from the mainstream.
Today, big Papa return with "Warriors." Featuring a short verse from Royce Da 5'9'' and a more electronic-influenced sound than their earlier work, this one drips with crossover potential. The question is whether the change will win over new fans while satisfying the band's established followers.
Is "Warriors" a good look for Papa Roach? How about for Royce? Let us know what you think in the comment section.
Quotable Lyrics:
Illuminate our lives, we are eternal
Deny the inner head-on collision
We sacrifice ourself for the mission
We are the warriors
