Every year around Martin Luther King Day, Nike Basketball debuts their upcoming Black History Month collection which features unique takes on the signature shoes of guys like Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kobe Bryant and for the first time this year, Paul George.
Kicking things off on Martin Luther King Day today, Nike has unveiled a plethora of special edition BHM PEs which will be worn by the aforementioned athletes during today's slate of games. Additionally, non-signature sneaker athletes like Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis, Jabari Parker, Kawhi Leonard and others will also be lacing up these special edition sneakers.
Solidarity is the underlining theme in this year's collection of Nike and Jordan BHM PEs as all of the kicks are decked out in the beloved "Triple Black" color scheme with no vibrant designs or patterns like we've grown accustomed to in year's past.
Nike has noted that these all-black BHM PEs shown in the gallery won't be hitting retailers but you can look for them on the floor today. Stay tuned for the unveiling of the BHM Nike Basketball sneakers that will be releasing in January.
