On June 21st we reported on the death of Lil Snupe, a rising rapper who had been signed to Meek Mill's Dreamchasers imprint. The rapper was shot dead, reportedly over a bet on a video game. Last we reported the suspect in the shooting had been identified as 36-year-old Tony D. Holden.
Today we've learned that Holden has turned himself into the cops. The Winnfield, Lousiana resident reportedly turned himself in at 10:15 AM yesterday, June 25th, and he was taken into custody without problems.
On Thursday, June 20th around 4:00 AM police responded to a call at Maplewood Apartments in the 1900 block of South Jones Street in Winnfield. They found that Lil Snupe, who had just turned 18, was shot at least twice in his upperbody. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Holden has been booked in Winnfield City Jail on one count of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. No bond has been set at this time.
Holden definitely has a history with the law. Previous charges on the shooter include several drug charges, mainly related to cocaine, and one count each of forcible rape and second-degree kidnapping, as well as two counts of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.
A funeral service for the Lil Snupe will be held this Saturday at 11 A.M. in the Jonesboro-Hodge High School auditorium in Jonesboro.
