Jay-Z's Roc Nation label signs a deal with Universal Music group.

Jay-Z seems to be non-stop making moves these days. The rapper announced the launch of his very own sports management company, Roc Nation Sports, a week ago, and now yet another new deal has been announced with Universal Music Group, which not only pertains to Hov, but to other Roc Nation artists, like Rihanna, J. Cole and Shakira.

While Jay-Z and his Roc Nation artists recently handed over their publishing rights to Warner/Chappelle Music, the business side of things will now be under Universal Music, which it seems will lend aid and support to the Roc Nation label.

Although the details haven't been revealed, the deal will make Roc Nation a "standalone label" under the Universal Group. From what we understand, the partnership allows Universal to have the rights to Hov's upcoming album, as well as other artists on Roc Nation, at the same time allowing Roc Nation to be an independent label.

Jay-Z commented on the new partnership, "this agreement presents a unique opportunity for Roc Nation’s artists—being able to continue to operate as an independent label with the strength, power and reach of the best major. I look forward to a long and prosperous collaboration with UMG. It feels good to be home."

We'll update you with more information when it becomes available.
