We knew this was coming. After previewing the new, J Dilla-produced joint "The Season" at a Run The Jewels album release event in Brooklyn last night, God's Son drops the official version on his Audiomack account.
Essentially a freestyle over the late, great Detroit producer's "Gobstopper" beat (included on his legendary album Donuts), "The Season" includes sung and rapped vocals from the Queensbridge MC. He name checks the Prince of Wales, Jay Z and Jay Electronica, and coins the phrase "Nasty Nas-itis" along the way, showing again why he's one of the most revered vocalists of all time.
Revisit Dilla's classics in our new #TBT article dedicated to him.
