South Jersey rapper Mike Zombie, who also produces for OVO, is back with a new single: "Night with the Henny," his first track since his Humble Genius album, released earlier this summer. Right away, Zombie inundates the listener with a melodic wave that doesn't let up throughout the track. He puts the effects of the Henny into sonic form -- distinct for even the sober folks. He keeps relaxed, cascading flows for much of the track, including on the hook, though he also jumps into a few extra heated bursts, which is understandable considering the drink in question.
As is the case with much of his work, "Night with the Henny" is self-produced. Icy synths pulsate to create an atmospheric effect while the 808s keep the adrenaline running. Though he raps, "The summer's fuckin' mine," "Night with the Henny" is actually a cut off Zombie's forthcoming project, Winter's Coming. It's a season he's learned to thrive in.

Quotable Lyrics
Skrting off in the whip
Yeah I really shouldn't drive
Thankin' God that I'm alive
Worry 'bout it when I die
