It's hard to believe that Migos have yet to release their debut album, as the Atlanta trio's infectious hooks, flows, and ad-libs have been inescapable since their breakthrough in 2013. The group has kept a consistent presence through rapid mixtape releases, earning them plenty of radio and club hits along the way.
Now the question has become, how can the group set their debut LP, YRN: Tha Album, apart from their many free projects? And it's a question the trio are very prepared to answer. While it's clear Migos have proven themselves as hitmakers, they're looking to convince all naysayers, and establish themselves as full-package rappers.
In our interview at SXSW, Quavo mentioned that he and the fellow members made sure to slow down their furious triplet flows, to really lay their lyricism into more casual listeners' brains. Takeoff then added that fans would be "shocked" by what they have in store on the LP. Later on in the sit-down, the trio break down their "Migo Lingo," and give us a demonstration of their favorite hooks they've written so far.
