Fans at the mtvU Woodie awards were impressed by a stage move Macklemore broke out the show, which found him performing an act similar to crowd surfing, but instead walking across the audience as they held him by his feet. It seems that Wu-Tang rapper Method Man was not impressed by the feat, mainly because he's been doing it himself for some time.
Meth addressed his problem with Macklemore borrowing his performance style at a recent Denver, Colorado show. While he expressed praise for the emcees rapping ability, he was annoyed by the crowd walking. “I was watching MTV not too long ago and there was a rapper on stage. This mothafucka had a lot of energy and was really, really enjoying his performance. I think his name is Macklemore,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, that mothafucka can rhyme, but as I’m watching his performance, I think this mothafucka [did something] that just pissed me off. He actually tried to walk on [the crowd]. I started that shit! That’s my shit!”
The Killer Bee was adamant that if Mack were to attempt to copy him again, that the crowd should drop him. “Don’t get me wrong. When Macklemore come to ya’ll city, ya’ll show him all the love that ya’ll show Red and Meth, but if that mothafucka tries to do my walk on the crowd thing, I want Denver, Colorado to drop his ass like a bad habit,” Meth revealed.
While it may have been the first time Meth caught wind of Macklemore doing his "crowd walk", plenty of Youtube videos support the fact that he's been doing it for a while now.
