It was rather surprising to see just how many features -- 13 in total -- Meek Mill included on DC4, which finally arrived yesterday. There are four tracks that come with two featured artists, and luckily, each of those are nicely curated. "Offended," featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, is easily one of the project's top tracks. Jeffery's hook, from which the track gets its title -- "fuck is you talkin' bout, bitch you offended me" -- is delivered with remarkable ease despite its complexity. Each of these artists has the rare ability to channel a riveting street-level energy, but they each do so in a very different manner than one another. Meek, the rapper's rapper of the bunch, happens to veer into unusually melodic territory here, though his bars are as potent as ever. 21 Savage, who just featured on Drake's "Sneakin'," delivers yet again. He's not going anywhere.
"Offended" is produced by OZ, who's also responsible for the (incredible) first part of the closing track, which features the late Lil Snupe.
Quotable Lyrics
Molly, my cup look like bath salt
And I'm too high horsed for asphalt
Therefore I'm in clouds from day to dark
They say that I changed, it's the cash fault
