Meek Mill's 2011 Dream Chasers was a stellar mixtape, the likes of which he perhaps has not duplicated since. It featured such bangers as "Middle of da Summer," "Get Dis Money," & "House Party," but no track from the tape made its mark more than "Ima Boss" feat. Rick Ross.
The song's enduring appeal can be largely attributed to Jahlil Beats' absolutely monstrous beat, which seems to trumpet the arrival of Alexander the Great, Ramses II, or some other legendary emperor. Indeed, Floyd Mayweather used the instrumental as his entrance music for #MayPac.
Why Meek didn't tap Jahlil for DWMTM is a huge mystery.
Quotable Lyrics
Got so many shades, they thought I had a lazy eye.
Shorty rode me smooth as my mercedes ride.
No love, cry when only babies die.
And when I go that casket, better cost a hundred thou.
I pray to God I look my killer in his eyes.
Snatch his soul up out his shirt, let's take him for that ride.
