With the exception of Nipsey Hussle, Chicago artist Mari has the best weekly Monday series in the game. He's taken the series to new heights in recent weeks with "Bliss," "Up," and "Paper Run." Earlier this week he returned with another self-produced banger, "40 Flavors."
Mari opens the song with a trope: "I just fucked me a check up." But as it turns out, he hasn't spent money on strippers, champagne, or even a nice filet mignon. He's spending his hard-earned dollars on rent, rice & beans, and all sorts of unglamorous shit. It's all good though, as Mari ends the song with a promise to "Jimmy Brown on these lame hoes."
