Macklemore covers the January issue of The Source magazine, and is named 'Man of the Year.'

We can't really argue about Macklemore's success over the past year at this point. As the rapper receives radio play around the world and continues to sell his 2012 release The Heist week after week, he's been dubbed 'Man of the Year' by The Source magazine.

With the title comes a new cover with Macklemore on it. We've got an excerpt from the interview, in which Macklemore comments on competing with Kendrick Lamar in several categories for this year's Grammys.

“In terms of [that category], I think it should go to Kendrick. He’s family. TDE is family, and I understand why Hip-Hop would feel like Kendrick got robbed [if he didn't win]. I’m not trying to compare albums; I think you can make an argument for both. With that being said, I am a huge supporter of what Kendrick does. And because of that, I would love to win in a different category. We obviously had massive success on commercial radio, and I think that, in ways, The Heist was a bigger album, but Kendrick has a better rap album.”

The Source also named Chance The Rapper their 'Rookie of the Year.' Peep Macklemore's cover in the gallery above, the issue is already on news stands.
