It looks like we're seeing Macklemore and Ryan Lewis come out of hiding. After reaching astronomical levels of success with their debut album The Heist, and specifically singles like "Thrift Shop," the duo took a break from music. During a recent interview with Complex, they revealed their new album is almost complete, so it was only a matter of time before they dropped a new record. And here it is.
"Growing Up" is slow-moving. Macklemore adopts a conversational flow over production that's more soft rock-leaning than it is hip-hop, as he sends out a personal message to his new-born daughter Sloane. Hi-hats and drums, light piano keys and background guitar strumming rounds out the record.
Macklemore paired the song on SoundCloud with a pretty lengthy message about finding out his wife was pregnant. Read excerpts from it in the single art up top.

Quotable Lyrics
Slow dance with your women in your arms
Sneak her in after, but boy, you better tip toe
Don't wake your mom up, do yoga, learn about karma
Find God but leave the dogma
