Lupe Fiasco has been wearing his heart on his sleeve during his promo tour for his upcoming album Food & Liquor Tour: The Great American Rap Album Pt. I. Speaking openly about his dismay of the current state of hip hop, and even most recently mentioned Chief Keef specifically as somebody who frightens him, saying that Keef is representative of the problems with the violence Chicago youth are embroiled in.
Further strengthening Lupe's argument, Chief Keef took to Twitter to open laugh at the death of a rival MC, Lil JoJo:
Later on Chief added to his public drama by saying "Lupe Fiasco a hoe ass nigga And wen I see him I'ma smack him like da lil bitch he is".
Lupe took this to heart and was very bothered by Keef's remarks. He went on Twitter and reached out to Keef, trying to make amends, and Lupe was reeling so much emotionally that now he has tweeted that he plans on retiring shortly. First mentioning how hurt he is in a series of tweets:

Afterwards, apparently claiming to be too bothered by this drama to continue in the rap game, Lupe tweeted that this will be his last album. Although, he had previously stated the titles and concept for his next two albums following Food & Liquor 2: Pt 1. The politically charged Chi-town rapper says he will return to his first love, literature.

Important to note are two follow-up tweets from both Lupe and Keef. First, Chief Keef's twitter account tweeted that his account had been hacked. Could this be a case similar to the twitter dust up between Mobb Deep's Havoc and Prodigy, where Hav put P on blast on Twitter but then claimed his account was hacked? Havoc later rescinded that he was hacked and openly said he was the one tweeting all along.
Later, Lupe tweeted the release of his latest single off his upcoming album "American Terrorist 2". For a rapper who seems intent on retiring, and exhausted by the game, he didn't hesitate to still push his new single. Chime in below and let us know what you think. Was that really Chief Keef tweeting shots at Lil JoJo's death and Lupe? Do you really think Lupe will be leaving the rap game? Let's hope the answer is a resounding "no" to both.
